Mildred E. Walker

Mildred Eileen (Oltman) Walker, 83, of Poplar Bluff died Sunday, April 18, 2010 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Walker was born Sept. 27, 1926 in Pekin, Ill. A member of South Poplar Bluff General Baptist Church, she attended Pleasant Hill General Baptist Church when her health permitted. Mrs. Walker had retired from the Division of Family Services, and was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

On Feb. 27, 1946 she married James William Walker in Poplar Bluff. He survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Karen Winberry and husband Steve and Kathy Aud all of Poplar Bluff; 5 grandchildren: Kimberly Snyder, Lori Smith and husband Greg, Doug Aud and wife Lorie and Aaron Winberry, all of Poplar Bluff and Adam Winberry and Natalie of Paducah, Ky.; 10 great-grandchildren: Jonathan Snyder, Katelyn Snyder, Justin Snyder, Madison Smith, Ethan Smith, Audrey Smith, Hunter Aud, Gavin Aud, Logan Winberry and Lance Winberry; a sister, Georgia Utter of Pekin, Ill; and 2 brothers, Kenny Oltman and Vincent ""Buzz"" Oltman, both of Pekin, Ill.

Her parents, Edward and Carrie Mable (Ross) Oltman, daughter, Kathleen ""Kitty"" Weng, 2 son-in-laws, Donald Weng and Eddie Aud, 2 sisters, Nellie Sweeter and Dorothy Maple and 7 brothers, Walt Oltman, Carl Oltman, Tude Oltman, Dick Oltman, Ed Oltman, Clarence Oltman and Eugene Oltman preceded Mrs. Walker in death.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Chapel with the Rev. Royce Schanda officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
