Minnie Rimel Davis

Minnie Rimel Davis, 83, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Friday July 21, 2017 at Delmar Gardens Center in O’ Fallon, Mo.

Mrs. Davis, the daughter of the late Jacob and Lucille (McDowell) Rimel, was born July 9, 1934 in Poplar Bluff. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church Mrs. Davis retired from Missouri Utilities where she worked as a clerk for 25 years then for Union Electric for six years before retired in 1992. She was a life long resident of Poplar Bluff and graduate of the Poplar Bluff High School Class of 1952. Mrs. Davis was a member of the AMVETS Post 29 Ladies Auxiliary since 1972 she served as State President for AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary 1988-89 and 1996-97. Mrs. Davis received the White Clover Award, which is the highest honor. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and a Volunteer at the UCAN office in Poplar Bluff.

On Dec. 25, 1953, she married Leslie Davis in Poplar Bluff. He preceded her in death on June 6, 1985.

Survivors include her daughter, Charlotte (Duane) Bollmann of Wentzville, Mo., four grandchildren; Joshua (Dusti) Braschler and Nicki (Eric) Welshans of Wentzville, Mo., Amie Bollmann and Alisa Knowles of San Diego, Calf. four great- grandchildren, Kestian Braschler, Darian Braschler, Madison Welshans and Alex Hivley; two brothers, Bob (Linda) Rimel of Poplar Bluff, Mo. and John Rimel of Wilmer, Alabama; a sister, Betty (Ed) Harris of Ruston, La.

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Phyllis (Rimel) White and a brother, Charlie Rimel, her special friend, Harold Stovall.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with Pastor Marty Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery
