Myron Rowland Christian

Myron Rowland Christian, 90, a lifelong resident of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away on July 7, 2025.

Myron was born on Dec. 11, 1934, to Vernon and Clarice (Rowland) Christian. He married the sweetheart of his life, Rosetta Eleanor Mitchelle, on July 31, 1954, at the New Home General Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff.

Myron served in the National Guard for two years. He worked for several years at the Family Shoe Store in downtown Poplar Bluff before proudly owning and operating Clyde Reed Man’s Store for many years. He was a charter member of Poplar Bluff Elks Lodge #2452.

Myron enjoyed planting a large vegetable garden each summer and enjoyed fishing trips at Lake Wappapello with his wife and various fishing buddies. For the last several years, he was very devoted to caring for his wife. Myron previously attended the Westside Church of God but has attended Agee Fellowship Church for the last several years.

Myron was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Clarice, and siblings, Verna Marie Sloan and Dr. George C. Christian. He is survived by his wife of 70 years Rosetta; two children, Debbie Christian of Cypress, Texas and Joe Christian of Kansas City. Missouri and two grandchildren, Jacob (Aprell) Christian of Merritt Island, Florida and Kate (Nick) of Overland Park, Kansas.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2025, at Poplar Bluff City Cemetery with Pastor Jim Schremp officiating.
