Nathan Leon Stout

Nathan Leon Stout, 71, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. passed away Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Mr. Stout was born Jan. 26, 1943 in Harviell, Mo. to Dorothy (Gower) Stout Moore and the late Wilborn ""Shorty"" Stout. He was a member of Bluff City Apostolic Worship Center, and had retired in 2011 after over 30 years as owner and operator of Atlas Moving Company. Mr. Stout still owned and operated Poplar Bluff Mini Storage, was a past member of the Poplar Bluff Lions Club and Chamber of Commerce and proudly served in the US Marines. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, operating a backhoe on his farm and being a master of small talk.

On Oct. 21, 1975, he married Margaret ""Peggy"" LeGrand in Poplar Bluff. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include his children: Gregory Stout (Diana), of Poplar Bluff, Brian Stout of Terrell, Texas, Patricia Hays and Jessica Schindler (Matt) all of Poplar Bluff; a friend as close as a son, Danny Hayes of Poplar Bluff; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Darrell Stout of Poplar Bluff; three sisters: Sheila Smith, Shirley Larmie and Valerie Kiefer all of Poplar Bluff: and numerous close friends.

A brother, David Lee Stout also preceded Mr. Stout in death.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Bluff City Apostolic Worship Center. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with Pastor Jerry Williams officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
