Nicholas E. ""Nick"" Longbottom, 57, of Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Longbottom was born June 1, 1954 in Poplar Bluff. He was a member of Oak Grove New Beginnings Church in Poplar Bluff, and most recently had been attending the Family Worship Center. Mr. Longbottom worked as a construction worker and truck driver. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, camping, canoeing, and floating on Current River.
On Feb. 14, 2008, he married Sharon Ray in Poplar Bluff. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Nikki Barger of Qulin, Mo.; his father, Charles E. Longbottom of Poplar Bluff; three step-children, Dawn Stadler and Perry Smith and wife Tracy all of Poplar Bluff and Jason Smith and wife Andrea of Houston, Tex.; three grandchildren, Kyleah Estes, Makenna Estes and Chase Clark; four step-grandchildren, Rachel Stadler, Raynie Stadler, Chad Smith and Kaleb Smith; two sisters, Rebekah Breeden and husband Tom and Lori Martin and husband Doug all of Poplar Bluff; an aunt and uncle, Pat and Gene Stamps of Poplar Bluff; and a niece, Mallory Breeden of Springfield, Mo.
Mr. Longbottom's mother, Betty L. (Bradley) Longbottom preceded him in death on Aug. 16, 2011.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel with Rev. Byron Beck officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
