Norene Rutledge Duncan

Norene Rutledge Duncan, 88, of Poplar Bluff, passed away April 15, 2014, at her residence.

Mrs. Duncan was born March 15, 1926, to the late Lyman and Creasy Wood Rutledge.

On October 14, 1944, she married Paul Duncan in Poplar Bluff. He preceded her in death on March 11, 2001.

Mrs. Duncan was a member of First Baptist Church, and had retired from Missouri Natural Gas.

Survivors include her daughter, Cherry Shepard (Charles) of Poplar Bluff; a brother, John Rutledge, of Poplar Bluff; three sisters, Marilyn Bell of Nixa, MO, Myra Clark of Springfield, MO, Carolyn Denton, of Poplar Bluff; two grandsons, Lance Shepard (Cathy) of Jackson, MO, and Bryan Shepard (Cindy), of Neosho, MO; and a great granddaughter Morgan Shepard.

A sister, Lois Morgan also preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. at Duncan Cemetery on Highway V in Wayne County, with Dr. William Vail officiating.
