Norma Lee Emery

Norma Lee Emery, 71, of St. Peters died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009 at her residence.

Mrs. Emery was born Jan. 30, 1938 in Qulin. She had retired as a houseparent for the Missouri School for the Blind. Mrs. Emery was an avid Cardinal's baseball fan and enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include five children: Carol Hawkins, Ron Hawkins and wife Kathy and Rick Hawkins all of St. Louis, Carla Binkley and husband Ken of Bixby, Okla. and Luci Thompson and husband Robbie of St. Peters; 10 grandchildren: Jennifer Hawkins, Rachel Mangrum, Joseph Hawkins, Wendy Bourgeois, Timothy Bourgeois, Bethany Binkley, Melissa LaRose, Ashley LaRose, Jeffery Stegeman, Jr. and Megan Thompson; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alberta Henthorn of St. Louis and Grace Fondren of Poplar Bluff; and a brother, Norman Emery and wife Ruth of St. Louis.

Her parents, Clarence and Lucy (Collins) Emery, and brothers, Eugene Wells, Jack Wells and Edward Wells preceded Mrs. Emery in death.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel with Pastor Danny Kirk officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
