Norma L. (Combs) Goodwin

Norma Lee Goodwin, 80, of Poplar Bluff passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Goodwin was born Sept. 17, 1932 in Leachville, Ark. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff, and had retired after 22 years as a cook at O'Neal School cafeteria. Mrs. Goodwin enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, reading and jigsaw puzzles.

On May 6, 1951, she married Leonard John ""Jay"" Goodwin in Poplar Bluff. He preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 2003.

Survivors include two children, Nora Lynn Nell Burpo (Daniel), of Rombauer, and Leonard John Goodwin III, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lucille Cordts and Roberta Leibing, both of Fremont, Mich.; and a brother, William Harlis Holmes, also of Fremont, Mich.

Her parents, Delva M. and Nora Carnettt Combs, two sisters, two brothers and a great granddaughter also preceded Mrs. Goodwin in death.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with Dr. William Vail officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn section of the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
