Ola Elizabeth Baker, 90, of Eminence, Mo., formerly of Doniphan, Mo. died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011 at her residence in Eminence.
Mrs. Baker was born June 16, 1921 in Nettleton, Arkansas. She was a member of West Eminence Christian Church, and was a homemaker. Mrs. Baker enjoyed being a wife and mother, sewing for her 9 children as they were growing up, doing embroidery work and entering her handwork in craft shows.
On July 3, 1940, she married James Vernon Baker. Mr. Baker preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 1997.
Survivors include her children, Joyce C. Smith of Springfield, Mo., Melba J. Crider, Mary Ann Russell and James Ronald Baker all of Eminence, Mo., Margaret Ellen Sawyer of Cabool, Mo., Gary Wayne Baker of Harviell, Mo., and Mickey Leon Baker, Teresa E. Brown and Robin Larren Baker all of Eminence, Mo.; 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her parents, Benjamin F. and Sophia Margaret (Nelson) Cowan, brother, William Henry Cowan and sisters, Velma Hensley, Ruby Hicks, Eva Adaline Fletchel and Flossie Mae March also preceded Mrs. Baker in death.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at West Eminence Christian Church in Eminence, Mo. A graveside service and burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Woodlawn Cemetery in Poplar Bluff, Mo. with Rev. Allen Bates officiating.
Cotrell Funeral Service of Poplar Bluff, Mo. is in charge of arrangements.
