Omma Mae (Mckinley) Baysinger

January 4, 1924 — December 7, 2011

Omma Mae Baysinger, 87, long time resident of rural Poplar Bluff and recently of Godfrey, Ill., went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011.
Mrs. Baysinger was born Jan. 4, 1924, at Delaplaine, Ark. to Dena and William McKinley. Because of ailing health she had been living with her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Linda Baysinger since October of 2005.
Mrs. Baysinger was a member of First Baptist Church, and sang in the church choir as well as various other choirs and groups. She was a graduate of Ozark Beauty College, Jonesboro, Ark., and was a practicing beautician in Poplar Bluff from 1954-1957, downtown Famous-Barr in St. Louis, Mo. from 1957-1971, and briefly again at Poplar Bluff in the early 70's before retiring.
On April 20, 1942, she married Beecher V. Baysinger in Walnut Ridge, Ark. He passed away Dec. 31, 2007.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Linda Baysinger of Godfrey, Ill.
In addition to her husband, her parents and five siblings preceded her in death.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13th, at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the Chapel with Dr. William Vail of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
