Oscar R. Toby Daughhetee

Oscar Ray ""Toby"" Daughhetee, 83, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 at Oakdale Skilled Care Center in Poplar Bluff.

Mr. Daughhetee was born Sept. 26, 1929 in Poplar Bluff. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church on PP Highway, and had retired from Hewlett Meat Company and Mo-Ark Meat Provisions in Poplar Bluff after 25 years as a salesman. Mr. Daughhetee was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, quilting and leather crafting.

On Dec. 24, 1948, he married the love of his life, Dorothy Evelyn Mosley in Piggott, Ark. She preceded him in death on June 21, 2009.

Survivors include his daughter, Patricia Ann Campbell and husband, Ralph, of Poplar Bluff; 2 sons, Jimmie Dale Daughhetee and wife, Peggy, of Poplar Bluff, and Orville Ray Daughhetee and wife, Jeanne, of St. Charles, Mo.; 4 grandchildren, Joshua Daughhetee and wife, Sherra, Andrew Daughhetee and wife, Erin, Ryan Daughhetee and Mark Daughhetee and wife, Amanda; 3 great-grandchildren, Leia Daughhetee, Preston Daughhetee and Caleb Daughhetee; 3 sisters, Lydia Kindrick, of Poplar Bluff, JoAnn Ovitt of Warrington, Mo., and Peggy Hasty, of Brownsville, Ky.; 2 brothers, Everett Milton and Jerry Daughhetee, both of Poplar Bluff; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

His parents, A.C. and Mamie (Garrett) Daughhetee, a granddaughter, Megan Daughhetee, 2 sisters, Jean Eddens and Veda Whalen and 2 brothers, Earl Daughhetee and Billy Milton also preceded Mr. Daughhetee in death.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. A graveside service with full military honors presented by the Missouri Marine Corps Funeral Honors Team as well as the SEMO Veterans Honor Guard will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bays Springs Cemetery in Butler County with Pastor Greg Kirk officiating.
