Pansy Rae (Gould) Blakeney

Pansy Rae Blakeney, 75, of Poplar Bluff, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 at Mark Twain Caring center in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Blakeney was born July 25, 1937 in Wardell, MO. She was of the Nazarene faith, and had retired from Smiley Container Company. Mrs. Blakeney enjoyed spending time with her family, being outdoors, working in her yard, cutting wood, gardening and sewing.

On June 24, 1973, she married Jim Blakeney. He preceded her in death on Dec. 31, 1984.

Survivors include three children, Darrell Newcomb, of St. Louis, MO, Blaine Newcomb, of Fairdealing, MO, and Sherrill Delancy, of Anderson, MO; six grandchildren, April Ceja, Aaron Warbritton, Ashley Newcomb, Crystal Newcomb, Tabitha Phillips and Thomas Newcomb; 15 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Phyllis Clayton, Charlotte Freeman, and Sharon Cornman.

Her parents, Earl Gould and Irene Hampton Gould also preceded her in death.

Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral chapel with Rev. Jim Cornman officiating. Burial will be at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
