Parker Charles Millar, 70, of Poplar Bluff passed away Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015 at his residence.
Mr. Millar was born March 28, 1944 in Wichita, KS. He was of the Episcopal faith and was disabled. He proudly serviced his country in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict., and was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal W/2 Bronze Service Stars; Vietnam Campaign Medal W/60 Device; Army Commendation Medal w/OLC; 2 O/S Bars; Good Conduct Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Expert Badge w/Riffle Bar (M-16); Marksman Badge w/Rifle Bar (M-16): Joint Service Commendation Medal. Mr. Millar enjoyed spending time with his family.
Mr. Millar is survived by his wife, Helen D. (Holt) Millar of the home; four children: Angela Towner, of Poplar Bluff, Dan Caldwell, of Chicago Ridge, Ill., Shirl Casey, of Worth, Ill., and Joe Caldwell, also of Poplar Bluff; and two grandchildren: Kyle and Kayce Towner.
His parents, Robert S. and Katharine (Parker) Millar and a brother, Robert S. Millar, Jr. preceded him in death.
A graveside service with full military honors will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with Rev. Greg Gilberto officiating.
