Patricia Kay Shackelford

Patricia Kay Shackelford, 63, of Poplar Bluff died Friday, Jan. 22, 2010 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Shackelford was born Sept. 30, 1946 in Poplar Bluff. She graduated from Poplar Bluff High School, and later from School of the Ozarks with a degree in Elementary Education and English. During her earlier years she was an elementary teacher at the Twin River and Herculaneum schools and later retired as a social worker for the Division of Family Services. Mrs. Shackelford enjoyed crocheting, quilting, sewing and reading.

On Nov. 22, 1968 she married Loren Shackelford in Poplar Bluff. He survives.

Other survivors include her son, Geoffrey Shackelford and wife Brook of Columbia; and two grandchildren, Gavin and Cameron Shackelford both of Columbia.

Her parents, William H. and Sarah Frances (Watts) Shanks and brother, Steven Watts Shanks preceded Mrs. Shackelford in death.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. A graveside service and burial will follow at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn Cemetery in Poplar Bluff with Don Lough officiating.

The family would also like to thank Becky and Sherry, and the staff of Tri-County Healthcare for their faithful service during the past year.
