Patty Sue Caldwell died at home unexpectedly at 6:30 p.m., Friday, October 10, 2008. She had recently been diagnosed with cancer.
Patty was born to Guy and Retta Gayle on June 21, 1935, in Naylor. They preceded her in death. She graduated from Poplar Bluff High School in 1952. She married Fred Caldwell from Jonesboro, Ark., on July 2, 1955.
Patty was a housewife and loving mother to her three children and grandmother to her 10 grandchildren as well as a good friend to many.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Fred Caldwell; two sons, Steve Caldwell and wife Nikki of Cape Girardeau, and Dr. Mike Caldwell and wife Jenni of Poplar Bluff; one daughter Cindy Worley and husband Curtis of Poplar Bluff; and grandchildren, Lyndsey Caldwell, Logan Caldwell, Blaze Stephens, Samantha Ratledge, Cameron Caldwell, Davis Caldwell, Elizabeth Caldwell, Jordan Worley, Taylor Worley and Connor Worley. She is also survived by many other loving friends and family too numerous to name.
Patty loved life and her focus was on her family and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Poplar Bluff.
The family requests that memorials be given to the First Baptist Church ""Now and Forever"" campaign to reach the community for Christ.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church, with Dr. William Vail officiating.
