Paul R. Jenkins

Paul R. Jenkins, 92, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Swift Creek Residential Center in Poplar Bluff.

Mr. Jenkins, the son of the late Roy J. and Minnie C. Freeman Jenkins, was born Sept. 29, 1923 in Harviell, Mo. He was a member of Twin Springs Baptist Church and had retired in 1985 from Porter DeWitt Construction Company. Mr. Jenkins enjoyed woodworking, building dog houses and planting flowers.

On July 11, 1942, he married the former Wilma Adams in Poplar Bluff. She preceded him in death on Feb. 9, 2005.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Gray of Wappapello; three sons, Paul Rdell Jenkins of Poplar Bluff, Billy Jenkins of Centerville, Iowa and Danny Jenkins of Grandin, Mo.; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his twin sister, Pauline Mundinger of San Jose, Calif.

A son, Thomas Earl Jenkins, three sisters, Irene Bailey, Cynthia Gibson and Millie Kennedy and three brothers, Harold Jenkins, Roy Jenkins and Jimmy Jenkins also preceded Mr. Jenkins in death.

Visitation will begin at noon Wednesday, May 25th at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral chapel with Rev. Jim Schremp officiating. Burial will take place at Kinsey Cemetery in Butler County.
