Paul Albert Moore

Paul Albert Moore, 77, of Poplar Bluff died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008 at his residence.

Mr. Moore was born March 12, 1931, in Kennett, Mo. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Hayti, Mo., and was a retired State Trooper for Missouri Highway Patrol as well as a retired Lieutenant Colonel for the Missouri National Guard. Mr. Moore was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed farming, fishing, boating, and riding his 4-wheeler.

On April 29, 1989 he married Dolores Sides, in Caruthersville. She survives.

Other survivors include six children: Andrew Moore and his wife Sherry, of Poplar Bluff, Derland Moore and his wife Frannie, of Covington, La., Teri Dicks and her husband Keith and Sean Moore and his wife Carla, all of St. Louis, and Gary Swan and Cary Swan, both of Hayti; 13 grandchildren: Kimberly Waite and her husband Micah, Derland Paul Moore, Jr. and his wife Courtney, Michelle Wells and her husband Sean, Brad Moore, Hollie Rogers and her husband Andy, Ryan Fowler, Neely Moore, Caleigh Moore, Aaron Moore, Katelyn Moore, Chance Moore, Janea Swan and Chaddwick Swan; 4 great-grandchildren: Baylor Wells, Alexander Waite, Reece Rogers and Madisyn Swan; two sisters, Carolyn Murphy, of Bernie and Denna Fetters, of Farmington; and 3 brothers, Wayne Moore, of North Vernon, Ind., Kenny Moore, of Columbiaville, Mich. and Walden Moore, of Hillsboro.

His parents Albert and Thelma (Haggard) Moore, a sister, Alvena Vaughn and 3 brothers, Mitchell Moore, Dickie Moore and Jimmy Dale Moore preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Funeral Chapel with Dr. William Vail officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at 12 noon at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, in Bloomfield.
