Pauline (Phelps) Whittington

July 25, 1915 — December 12, 2011

Pauline Phelps Whittington, 96, of Poplar Bluff died Monday, Dec. 12, 2011 at Oakdale Care Center in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Whittington was born July 25, 1915 in Morgantown, Ky. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, and was a homemaker. Mrs. Whittington enjoyed spending time with her family.

On June 10, 1932, she was married to Frank Whittington in Butler County, Mo. Mr. Whittington preceded her in death on Mar. 1, 1970.

Survivors include four children, Janette Lourance and husband, William ""Bud"" and Morgan J. Whittington and wife, Judy all of Poplar Bluff and Kermitt Wayne Willis, Sr. and wife Margie of Greenville, Mo. and Pauline Johnson of Qulin, Mo.; 16 grandchildren, Gail Fredwell, Delora Winchester, Debra Martin, Jane Brooks, LouEllen Goin, Paula McAlister, Tom Willis, Kermitt W. Willis, Jr., Haven Willis, Connie Russo, Gary Johnson, Jodi Hanks, Tracy Sheppard, Judy Hansmann, Becky Rice and Tina Dugas; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bill Phelps of Poplar Bluff.

Her parents, Thomas L. and Paulina Jane Phelps, daughter, Shirley Dean Kemp, infant sons, Jerrion Devon Whittington and Douglas Keith Whittington, sisters, Pansy Roberts and Ruth Harker and brothers, Vard Phelps, Hershel Phelps and Morgan Phelps also preceded Mrs. Whittington in death.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Chapel with Mr. Jerry Griffiths officiating. Burial will follow at Black Creek Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
