Phyllis Ann Rimel White, 60, of Poplar Bluff died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008 at her residence.
Mrs. White, daughter of the late Jacob L. and Lucille (McDowell) Rimel was born Oct. 27, 1947, in Poplar Bluff. She was a member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church. Mrs. White graduated from Van Buren High School, class of 1966, and later received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, from Kent State University, in Ohio. She was employed for a number of years as a Registered Nurse. Mrs. White was a member of the Red Hat Society and a former volunteer for the Red Cross. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
On Sept. 1, 1979, she married Jerry L. White, in Poplar Bluff. He survives.
Other survivors include her step-daughter, Alicia Elizabeth Lincoln, of Cape Girardeau; step-granddaughter, Haley Elizabeth Ann Lincoln, of Cape Girardeau; sisters, Minnie Rimel Davis and Betty Rimel Harris and husband Ed, all of Poplar Bluff; and three brothers, Charlie Rimel and wife Judy, of Dexter, Bob Rimel and wife Linda, of Poplar Bluff and John Rimel, of Mobile, Ala.; and many special friends including Paul and Maxine Roberts, of Poplar Bluff and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will begin at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff with Pastor Marty Reed officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to United Cancer Awareness Network (UCAN), 1419 Maud St., Poplar Bluff, MO 63901, or to a cancer charity of one's choice.
