Quinten Doyle Campbell, 83, of Wappapello formerly of St. Charles died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010 at Mark Twain Caring Center in Poplar Bluff.
Mr. Campbell was born June 13, 1926 in Qulin, Mo. He was of the Protestant faith, and had retired from McDonnell Douglas as an electrician. Mr. Campbell was a 45 year member of I.B.E.W.; and a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 3416 where in 1995 he was very active in its rebuilding. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and playing shuffleboard.
On June 5, 1985 he married Elizabeth ""Betty"" Gardner Potter in St. Charles. She survives.
Other survivors include sons: Roger Campbell of Middlebury, Ind., Gary Campbell and Dennis Campbell both of O'Fallon; step-children: Connie Poole and husband Randy and Mike Potter all of St. Charles; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Norman Stanley Campbell Jr. and wife Carolyn of Wappapello and Leonard Carl Campbell and wife Linda of Greenfield, Ill.
Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by his parents, Norman Stanley and Mary Francis (Jones) Campbell, brothers, Gerald Wayne Campbell and Thomas Keith Campbell, sister, Mary Ella-V Laurence, son, Norman Keith Campbell and step-son, Bobby Joe Potter.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at the Wappapello Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Wappapello Chapel with Pastor Sue Welborn officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at the Missouri State Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield.
In lieu of flowers memorial contribution are encouraged to a charity of ones' choice.
