Randy Lynn Nix, 69, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Mercy-Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Randy was born on August 23, 1956, to Chester and Bernice (Whitehurst) Nix in Sikeston, Missouri.
Randy grew up in Poplar Bluff and graduated from high school in 1974. He attended college locally at Three Rivers before transferring to the St. Louis School of Pharmacy for 2 years. Randy was the medical supply purchaser at Kneibert Clinic for over 20 years before the company was purchased by St. Francis. He continued in the same position until his retirement in 2022; leaving him with over 40 years of service. In his spare time, Randy enjoyed fishing, cooking, and gardening. He was quite the motorhead; he enjoyed going to car shows and loved all things power and speed! His cooking skills were legendary. When asked the secret to his delicious dishes, he could never give the exact recipe or measurements, claiming he just cooked until it "tasted good" and threw things in until it was "just right". Randy had a kind and caring spirit, always making time to help others, even if it only meant lending an ear to listen. He was a great friend and a loving family member. Randy will be remembered most for his quick wit, contagious laugh, and big heart. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends. They will miss him dearly.
Randy is survived by his sisters, Barbara Robinson and Janis Morley; along with numerous extended family and friends.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Bernice; brother, Brant Nix; sister, Ginger Brooks.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 11:00am-12:00pm at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services in Poplar Bluff, MO. Funeral service will follow beginning at noon with Pastor John Harwell officiating. Burial will take place at Mounds Park Cemetery in New Madrid, Missouri.
