Randy E. Robinson

Randy Earl Robinson, 68, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Friday, Dec. 6, 2019 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Randy was born April 27, 1951 in Poplar Bluff, to Earl J. and Norma L. Robinson, also of Poplar Bluff. He was a graduate of Poplar Bluff High School class of 1969 and attended Three Rivers Community College. Randy proudly served in the Missouri Army National Guard. He began his business career as an insurance adjuster for Cameron Mutual Insurance Co. In 1975, he established Robinson Appraisal Service serving the community as a real estate appraiser, and in 1991 was designated as a State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser. He retired in 2002.

Randy was an entrepreneur as he had knowledge in several fields such as real estate investments, construction of commercial buildings, apartments, and housing. Randy was a car enthusiast and loved corvettes and red pickup trucks. When he was younger, he enjoyed “fellowship” with his buddies at the “Round Table” at the Village Three Restaurant in Poplar Bluff, where he made lifelong friends. He especially enjoyed his time with “Boogie D”, an adopted Labrador-boxer mix he and Barbara rescued from a Poplar Bluff parking lot during a mighty snowstorm in 2008.

Friends will always remember Randy’s sound business advice and his intelligence, generosity and sense of humor. He will be missed!

On Feb. 13, 1990, Randy married the love of his life Barbara Merick in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a devoted and loving husband and together they put their trust in God.

Randy is survived by his wife Barbara Merick Robinson; a daughter Brandi Robinson Melton of Little Rock, Ark.; two grandchildren, Arabella and Oscar Melton, also of Little Rock, Ark; a brother Rob D. (Carol) Robinson of Mooresville, North Carolina; a niece Lauren Robinson; a nephew Ryan Robinson; and a host of friends and business acquaintances.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents Earl J. and Norma L. Robinson and an infant sister Patricia Robinson.

Friends may call at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019, with the funeral service being conducted at 11 a.m. The Rev. Rick White will officiate. Interment with full military honors will follow at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
