Rebecca Lynne Carey Herndon

Rebecca Lynne Herndon, 66, of Broseley, Mo., passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Mrs. Herndon, daughter of the late Donald and Pauline Ruddell Carey, was born Dec. 30, 1949 in Oblong, Ill. She was of the Pentecostal faith and was a homemaker. Mrs. Herndon enjoyed spending time with her family, playing the piano, singing and reading her Bible.

In December 1995, she married Gary Glen Herndon in Poplar Bluff. He preceded her in death in January 2011.

Survivors include three children, Carey Jordan, Carmen Hawkins and Katy Jordan all of Poplar Bluff; five grandchildren, Jerrica Jordan, Blake Hawkins, Janeece Matlock, Caliah Pickard and Jace Matlock.

A brother, Jerry Carey also preceded her in death.

The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with the Rev. Sue Hampton officiating.
