Regina Josephine (Fox) Jones, 91, of Flint, Mich., formerly of Fredericktown, Mo. died Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012 at The Maple Place in Flint.
Mrs. Jones was born March 19, 1921 in Chicago, Ill. She was a special education teacher for many years and had retired in Alton, Ill. Mrs. Jones was a life-long member of the Methodist faith, and had been active in the Methodist Church while living in Fredericktown, Mo. Mrs. Jones helped start the Senior Center in Fredericktown and once served as Missouri Senior Citizen Volunteer of the Year. She enjoyed being a wife, mother, and teacher, sewing, playing pinochle, being active in the communities in which she lived and helping with group bake sales and fundraisers.
In 1943, she married Steve Jones in Lexington, Ky. Mr. Jones preceded her in death in 1996.
Survivors include four children: Bettie Stach (Robert) of Grand Blanc, Mich., Sherrie Gallina (Al) of Orlando, Fla., Dean Jones (Paula) of Decatur, Ga. and Warren Jones (Nancy) of Florissant, Mo.; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and five nieces and nephews.
Her parents, James and Lillian (Korecky) Fox also preceded Mrs. Jones in death.
Visitation will begin at 12 noon Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Wappapello, Mo. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the Funeral Chapel with The Rev. Jim Estes officiating. Burial will be in Little Brushy Cemetery at Wappapello.
