Rev. Jerry Wayne Anderson

Reverend Jerry Wayne Anderson, 57, of Athens, GA, passed away Monday, September 2, 2013 at Athens Regional Hospital.

Mr. Anderson was born September 25, 1955 in Poplar Bluff to Phillip J. and Sallie Mae Lewis- Anderson.

Thirty-two years ago he married Debbie D. Anderson, and to this union, they had a son Adrian J. Anderson. She survives of the son.

Mr. Anderson was the pastor of St. James Baptist Church in Athens, Ga. He retired from the United States Army, and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, son, grandson; Trevor J. Anderson, 12 brothers and sisters; Robert Anderson, Lewis Anderson (Lottie) both of Indianapolis, IN, Charles Anderson (Ruther), William James Anderson (Anne), Donnell Anderson (Willene) and Sylvester Anderson all of Poplar Bluff, Michael Anderson (Qubie) and Joyce Rose, all of Memphis, TN, Marbeline Rawlings of Poplar Bluff, Vermal Blackman of Elizabethtown, KY and Peggy Carter of Indianapolis, IN; 3 sister in laws; Geraldine Kimble and Elizabeth Burkely, both of Vicksburg, MS, Mary Stephens ( Walter) of Longview, TX, 2 brother in laws; Michael Kimble (Karen) of Elizabethtown, KY, Troy Kimble (Latoria) of Vicksburg, MS, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Dorothy (Otis) Hawes, and Linda Kay Smith.

Visitation will be Saturday from 12:30 ? 1:30 at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. Services will follow with Rev. Andrew Jefferson. Following the service full military honors will take place at the church. Interment will be Monday at 10:00 in Bloomfield at the Missouri State Veteran's Cemetery.
