Reva M. Sconce, 91, of Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011 at Mark Twain Caring Center in Poplar Bluff.
Mrs. Sconce was born Jan. 21, 1920 in Eminence, Mo. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff, and had retired as a caseworker for Head Start. Mrs. Sconce also served many years with the United Gospel Rescue Mission Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her family, her church, sewing, gardening, traveling and camping.
On July 17, 1938, she married Jesse W. Sconce in Eminence, Mo. He preceded her in death on April 18, 2008.
Survivors include her daughter, Jane Worley of Poplar Bluff; 5 grandchildren, Roger Sconce and wife Cheri, Jennifer Higgins and husband David, Tim Worley, Jason Worley and Jessica Shumate; 12 great-grandchildren, Ryan Sconce, Kelsey Sconce, Charlie Higgins, Cooper Higgins, Jack Higgins, David Higgins, Morgan Miller, Trevor Worley, Rayni Worley, Emma Worley, Maddi Mae Shumate and Deuce Shumate; a son-in-law, Dennis Mickey; 2 sisters, Milda ""Biddy"" Sconce and Tena Guffey both of Eminence, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents, George Thomas and Tena Wave (Loftin) Fry, daughter, Jackie Mickey, son, Glenn Sconce, sister, Lucile Hensley and brother, Gordon Fry also preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel with the Rev. Sam Upton officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
