Rex Karl Kirkpatrick, 89, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Kirkpatrick was born April 10, 1925 in Evansville, Ind. to the late Rex and Rose Christine Pudell Kirkpatrick. He proudly served his country during WWII while in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Kirkpatrick was a retired railroad engineer, a former truck driver for Penske Trucking Company and a school bus driver. He enjoyed spending time with and taking care of his family, running errands and doing odd jobs.
On Dec. 30, 1978, he married Mildred Ann Scaggs in Granite City, Ill. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Toni Joacham (Bob), of Zionsville, Ind.; three stepchildren: Bob Wood, of Collinsville, Ill., David Wood (Sandy), of Granite City, Ill. and Doug Wood, of Poplar Bluff; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Kirkpatrick was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amber Wood, a stepdaughter, Sherry Nicolini, and two sisters and four brothers.
A Memorial Service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7th, at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff with Pastor William McDowell officiating.
