Richard L. Dodge

Richard Lee Dodge, 83, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017 at his residence.

Mr. Dodge was born Nov. 11, 1933 in Odis, Colo. He was a member of New Home General Baptist Church and had retired after proudly serving 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. He later retired from John J. Pershing VA Medical Center after serving 20 years as a maintenance supervisor. He enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling.

On May 29, 1954, he married Helen Louise Reed in Joliet, Ill. She preceded him in death on April 2, 2015.

Survivors include his son, Darel V. Dodge and wife Joy of Savannah, Ga.; four grandchildren, Crystal Blue, Krystal Michelle, Jennifer and Dalton; and a brother, Bob Dodge of Colorado.

His father, George Cole, his mother, Stella Davis and two sons, Harold Junior Mims and Danny Lee Dodge also preceded Mr. Dodge in death.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral Service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Calvin Buhler officiating. Interment with full military honors will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
