Richard Lane Stott, 83, of Poplar Bluff died Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Mark Twain Caring Center, in Poplar Bluff.
Mr. Stott was born Nov. 19, 1924, in Trenton, Tenn. He was a member of the First United Methodist, of Poplar Bluff, and had retired from the business office of Union Pacific Railroad. Mr. Stott enjoyed playing golf, jogging, gardening, traveling and helping others.
In 1957, he married Shirley Hall, in Hernando, Miss. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Lisa Gaines and husband Mike, and Donna Lynn Stott, all of Poplar Bluff; a grandson, Kyle Million, of Poplar Bluff; and three brothers, Thomas Stott and William Stott, both of Trenton, Tenn., and Charles Stott, of Houston, Tex.
His parents, Theopolis John and Mattie (nee, McDougold) Stott, and a son, Michael Sean Stott preceded him in death.
A Memorial Service will begin at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff with Pastor Charles E. Buck officiating. Interment will follow at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
