Richard Earl Warn, 78, of Harviell, Mo., died Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Warn was born July 3, 1933 in Grand Rapids, Mich., and was a graduate of Grand Rapids Junior College. On December 5,1959 He married Leah L. Marckini in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She survives him. His profession was Accounting, and he was employed by Perry Oceanographics, Permatex, and Goodwill Industries, in West Palm Beach, Fla. and had small business also in North Carolina.
Mr. Warn served from 1951 to 1956 with the U.S. Coast Guard. After his retirement, he along with his wife traveled by motor home throughout the U.S.A. for 15 years before making their home in Harviell. Mr. Warn was a volunteer at Wappapello for the Corps of Engineers and at Pinewoods Lake, for the U. S. Forest Service, he also volunteered for the V.A. for 4 years, until his death. He was very interested in flying and collecting guns. He was a member of the Sports Car Club of America and Raced Triumph Spitfires, winning the regionals, once.
Other survivors include two children, Steven Richard Warn of West Palm Beach, Fla. and Sueanne Rae Cmehil-Warn of Poplar Bluff; one grandchild; and two sisters, Jean Hurlbut of Savannah, Ga. and Geraldine DeHaan of The Villages, Fla.
A graveside service with military honors will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 3rd at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with Chaplain Bill Hatch officiating.
