Richard A. Weiss

Richard A. Weiss, 69, of Poplar Bluff died Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at John J. Cochran VA Medical Center, in St. Louis.

Mr. Weiss was born April 30, 1938, in Euclid, Ohio. He was of the Baptist faith, and had retired from the United States Air Force having served in Vietnam. Mr. Weiss also worked as a supervisor for Allied Van Lines, was head chef for Monsanto Co., of Ohio, and was a troubleshooter manager for 7-Eleven chain stores throughout the southeast and southwest regions. He was a member of the American Legion Lodge and Disabled American Vets. Mr. Weiss enjoyed reading and collecting knives.

On Aug. 4, 1972 he married Judy Brock, in Cheyenne, Wyo. She survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Kristian Clark and husband Ron, of Poplar Bluff; five grandchildren, Brandyn Clark, Brianna Pooters, Brentyn Clark, Bailey Alford and Briar Alford; and two brothers, William Weiss, of Menton, Ohio and Dennis Weiss, of Mich.

His parents, William and Mary Magdelene (Ragg) Weiss, and a son, James Andrew Weiss preceded him in death.

The visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 29th at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. in the Chapel with the Rev. Byron Beck officiating.
