R L Rittenberry

R L Rittenberry, 71, of Poplar Bluff, MO passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at his home.

R L was born on May 2, 1951, to Phillip Rittenberry and Helen Reed Clark in Poplar Bluff.

R L was a dedicated family man and friend to many. He was a charismatic storyteller, and always left you wondering if he was telling a big fish tale or a version of the truth. He was a talented carpenter and jack of all trades. Many memories will stand in our surrounding area that he was a big part of building. He was a good cook and especially enjoyed making chicken pot pie, etouffee, and "east" rolls. R L loved his family fiercely and always kept them on their toes with his silly antics and orneriness.

R L is survived by three daughters, Lisa Hatton, Laura Bacon, and Wanda Sanders; brother, Richard Murphy; nine grandchildren, Cherokee, Tyler, Russell, Ryan, Jimmie, Micha, Hunter, Elijah, and Abigail; fourteen great-grandchildren.

R L was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Michael Murphy, and Jerry Rittenberry; two sisters, Sharon Lamb and Wanda Louise Rittenberry; his co-parent to his children, Glenda Sue Garcia.

A private Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date.
