Robert U. Christian

Robert U. ""Bob"" Christian, 84, of Poplar Bluff died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010 at Mark Twain Caring Center in Poplar Bluff.

Mr. Christian was born June 19, 1926 in Poplar Bluff. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church, and was a retired Plumbing Inspector for the City of St. Louis. During his early years, Mr. Christian was a banker for State Bank. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include two children, Carolyn Williams and husband, Winford of Brighton, Mich. and Robert E. ""Bob"" Christian and wife Diana of Poplar Bluff; three grandchildren, Wesley Christian and wife Nikki, Corey Christian and Christa Nelson; four great-grandchildren, Ethen Christian, Caden Christian, Trevor Nelson and Kyle Nelson; a sister, Anna Ferguson and husband Bob of St. Louis; and a brother, Charles Christian and wife, Nancy of Nashville, Tenn.

His parents, George and Allie (Sizemore) Christian and grandson, Mark Williams preceded him in death.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff with Dr. William Vail officiating.
