Robert E. Guffey

Robert E. Guffey, 66, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017 at his residence.

Robert was born July 15, 1951 in St. Louis, Mo. He was of the Baptist faith and had previously worked as a vendor at Bush Stadium in St. Louis. Robert enjoyed spending time with his family, Cardinal baseball and the Club House.

Survivors include his wife, Ella Mae Wells Guffey; his mother, Hilda Harling Guffey of Bonne Terre; four children, Linda (James) Burkhart of Poplar Bluff, Angela Davis and Sherry Grubbs of Dexter and Mandy Williamson of Wappapello; the mother of his children, Diana Williamson of Wappapello; a brother, Dennis Guffey of Kennett; three sisters, Betty (Russ) Watson of Bonne Terre, Carolyn Craft of Fredericktown and Margaret (Adam) Clark of Bonne Terre; and nine grandchildren.

His father Oliver O’Neal Guffey and a brother Billy Ray Lawson preceded him in death.

A gathering of family and friends will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday at Westwood Baptist Church with a Celebration of Life at 10 a.m. Dr. Steve Proctor will officiate.
