Robert Hardy Martin, D.PH., 80, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at The Manor in Poplar Bluff.
Mr. Martin was born August 26, 1933, in Milan, TN, to Buel and Beniva Mathis Martin, they preceded him in death.
On July 17, 1954, he married Doris I. Laufenberg in Augusta, GA. She survives of the home.
Mr. Martin was a graduate of the University of Tennessee Medical School in Memphis, Tn, where he was a member of the Phi Delta Chi Fraternity. He was a Dr. of Pharmacy, and retired in 1996, from the Kroger Pharmacy, he also filled in at many of the local pharmacies, throughout his career. He served in the United States Army as a military Police Officer, and was honorably discharged in July 1961, from the Armed Forces and the National Guard of Tennessee. He was a 50-year member of the Masons, the Scottish Rite 32 degree, and the Shrine Club. He was also a member of the 1st United Methodist Church, the Poplar Bluff Country Club, and past President of the Gibson County Shrine Club, in Milan, TN. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, and children: Jeff Scott Martin (Lori) of Union City, TN, and grandchildren; Mallory, Taylor, and Morgan Martin.
Mr. Martin was preceded in death by a daughter; Jenni Lynn Martin.
Visitation will be Friday at 10:30 a.m., at 1st United Methodist Church, with funeral services starting at 11:30 a.m., with Rev. David Stewart officiating. Entombment will follow at the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
The family request memorials be made to the endowment fund at the 1st United Methodist Church.
