Robert Troy Mcanulty

Rev. Robert Troy McAnulty, Sr., 78, of Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008 at his residence.

Rev. McAnulty, son of the late William Roosevelt and Mary Atha (McGarrity) McAnulty, was born April 25, 1930, in Russellville, Ark. He had previously served as pastor for Breckenridge Assembly, of St. Louis County, and was a member and ordained minister of Christian Family Fellowship International in Poplar Bluff, where he served as pastor to the seniors. Rev. McAnulty was also a retired auto body repairman. He enjoyed spending time with his family, teaching from the Bible, and working on cars. Rev. McAnulty especially enjoyed visiting Israel (which he has done 14 times) and serving as a tour host.

On Nov. 7, 1949, he married Dorothy Neal in Poplar Bluff. She survives.

Other survivors include five children: Ruth Mueller and Rod, of Apple Valley, Calif.; Ken McAnulty and Stephanie, of Poplar Bluff; Rhonda Bundy and Dave, of St. Charles, Mo.; Robert T. McAnulty, Jr. and Kathy, of Williston, Fla.; and Mary Tremaine and Lance, of Ellington, Mo.; 16 grandchildren: Kari, Lisa, Julie, Ken, Scott, Nathan, Tim, Laura, Matt, Bobby, Billy, Tommy, Christina, Michael, Tara and Brandon; and 11 great-grandchildren: Luke, Zack, Alice, Emma, Olivia, Jeremiah, Claire, Jake, Cole, Troy and Carolina; a sister, Mary Beth Rettig, of Sikeston, Mo.; and two brothers: Jim McAnulty, of Dexter and Ben McAnulty, of Florissant, Mo.

A daughter, Cheryl Palmer of Lake of the Ozarks, Mo. preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Kevin McAnulty officiating and the Rev. Jim Hoyt assisting. Burial will be at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
