Robert Eugene Merick

Robert Eugene Merick, 86, of Wappapello, Mo., passed away Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015 at The Golden Living Center in Dexter, Mo.

Mr. Merick was born July 5, 1929 in Sikeston, Mo. and was raised by his grandfather, the late Louis Merick. He was of the Catholic faith and was a retired truck driver and furniture mover. Mr. Merick was a 15 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force and proudly served his country during the Korean War. He was a member of the Wappapello V.F.W.

Survivors include his sister, Alfreda Hyman of Arnold, Mo.; and a friend and caregiver, Carol Faries of Dexter, Mo.

A graveside service with full military honors will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo.
