Robert Joseph Nohr, 82, of Labadie formerly of Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009 at his residence.
Mr. Nohr was born April 5, 1927 in Evansville, Ind. A retired independent contractor Mr. Nohr was a member of the Carpenter's Local 73 Union as well as the Elks Lodge 1559 of Washington, Mo. He was also a member of the Buttons and Bows Square Dance Club of Washington and the Gateway Wagoneers. He enjoyed traveling, square dancing, playing golf and racing.
On June 26, 1948 he married Sylvia McMillin in Piggott, Ark. She survives. They celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary this past June.
Other survivors include a daughter, Barbara JoAnne Schroepfer and husband Bernie of Krakow, Mo.; a grandson, Scott Hoffmann of Labadie; and a sister, Mary Kester and husband, Floyd of Poplar Bluff.
Mr. Nohr was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Mabel Bates (Shelton) Nohr.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel with the Rev. Paul White officiating. Burial will be at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
