Robert Thomas Rowland

Robert Thomas Rowland, age 17, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at Children's Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Robert, son of David E. Rowland, and the late Diane Lynn Mansfield Rowland, was born December 4, 1998 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and would have been an eleventh grade student at Poplar Bluff High School. When not playing a stellar shortstop with his Buddy Ball teammates, Robert enjoyed traveling to St. Louis Cardinal's baseball games and SEC football games with his family and friends. He also cherished his time supporting the veterans at the Poplar Bluff VA Hospital. In Robert's spare time, he could be found with a smile playing video games with his friends or having fun with his cousins on Current River.

Robert is survived by his father, David Edward Rowland and his wife, Jerri Ann McLane Rowland; four sisters, Amber Rene Maples, Ashley Marie Maples, Emily Annaleese Williams and Chloe Elizabeth Rowland; four grandmothers, Ida Joan Rowland, Norma McLane Smith, Geraldine Crain and Sue Mansfield; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A gathering of family and friends will begin on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Poplar Bluff, Missouri with mass following at 11 a.m. with Father William Hodgson officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations be made to Sacred Heart Catholic School (111 N 8th Street, Poplar Bluff, MO 63901) or The Honor Tour (PO Box 160, Poplar Bluff, MO 63901).
