Roger Morris Swenson

Roger Morris Swenson, 78, of Poplar Bluff, died Monday, June 22, 2015 at Westwood Hills Healthcare Center in Poplar Bluff.

Mr. Swenson, son of the late Albert and Ruth (Morris) Swenson, was born Feb. 23, 1937, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

On Feb. 23, 1957, he married Eunice Roesler in St. Louis. She survives of the home.

In addition to his wife of 58 years, Roger is survived by four children: Roger Swenson, Jr. and his wife Holly of Poplar Bluff, Rene Tomasino and her husband Guy of St. Augustine, Fla., Shelly Fuchs and her husband Steven of Mill Spring and Ronda Swenson of St. Louis; as well as 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

He is also survived by two sisters; Sharon Sanzo and her husband Manny of California and Jane Collins of California.

In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Chrissy Tomasino.

Roger enjoyed a lifetime of creating and inventing innovative products for the automotive industry. Through his passion he created a family business that allowed him to travel the world. He also had the pleasure of working with family, wonderful people locally, and throughout the world. He felt that he never worked a day in his life… because work was his passion.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with the funeral service following at 2:30 p.m. Pastor Vince Szymkowiak will officiate. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
