Ronald Ray Basham, 68, of Wappapello, Mo., died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Mr. Basham was born Nov. 22, 1943 in Bend, Oregon. He was a member of Mt. Zion Southern Baptist Church, and had retired from the U.S. Army. Mr. Basham enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, working on old cars, camping and fishing.
On April 7, 1989, he married Georgia Rae Ford in St. Roberts, Mo. She survives.
Other survivors include 4 children, Ronda Seisert of Vienna, Mo., Adina Christian, of Poplar Bluff, Damion Basham, of Camdenton, Mo., Cindy Ellen Snyder, of Clarksville, Ky.; 2 step-children: Teresa Warnekne, of Festus, Mo., and Michael Ford, of Farmington, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis Baker, of Lebanon, Mo.; and 4 brothers, Jack Basham, of Hillsboro, Mo., Truman Basham, of Glen Allen, Mo., Dan Basham and Jerry Basham, both of Winona, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.
His parents, Jack and Bertha (Huddleston) Basham preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The American Legion Riders of Greenville, Mo. will provide a processional escort to Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo. where burial with full military honors will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert Edwards officiating.
