Ronald Edward Hooper

Ronald Edward Hooper, 64, of Poplar Bluff, died Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Hooper was born Oct. 2, 1951 in Poplar Bluff. He was of the Christian faith and was a retired carpenter. Mr. Hooper proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Lance Corporal during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion in Poplar Bluff. At the time of his death he was caregiver for his mother and sister. He enjoyed spending time with his family, coin collecting, woodworking and shooting pool.

Survivors include four children: Tina Hooper (Mike) Harader of Blackwell, Okla., Jonathan (Lori) Hooper and Ronald E. Hooper Jr. of Ponca City, Okla. and Tricia (Phil) Harris of Poplar Bluff; his mother, Mary G. Arnold Hooper of the home; his special friend, Mary Sullivan of Poplar Bluff; a sister, Joyce Ann Hooper of the home; a brother, Thomas Dewayne (Linda) Hooper of St. Louis; the mother of his children, Theresa Larrsen of Ponca City, Okla.; 15 grandchildren: six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

His father, Thomas Franklin Hooper, a sister, Janet Louise Hooper and a brother, Jerry Hooper preceded him in death.

A gathering of family and friends will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff with a Celebration of Life following at 2 p.m. Full military honors will take place on the grounds outside of the chapel immediately following.
