Rosalie Rush Finazzo, 80, of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, formerly of St. Louis, died Wednesday March 10, 2010 in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. She was born Dec. 20, 1929 in Butler County and was retired from the St. Louis Public Schools Board of Education. Mrs. Finazzo enjoyed her job serving as school secretary at Galludet School for the Deaf in St. Louis as well as other Elementary schools. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and all of her family; her sense of humor was enjoyed by all. Mrs. Finazzo also enjoyed reading, collecting recipes, garage sale shopping where she was skilled at finding a bargain, old-time country music and the Grand Old Opry. She and her husband Dominic greatly enjoyed annual US Marine Corps reunions for the Third Amtrak Battalion (WWII).
On April 22, 1948 she married Dominic Joseph Finazzo of St. Louis. He preceded her in death on May 9, 2003.
Surviving are one daughter, Donna Stovall and husband Warren of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, two grandchildren, Eric Stovall of Destin, Florida and Lissa Stovall of Cape Cod, Mass., two brothers, Ronald Rush and wife Pearl of Harviell, and David Rush, Jr. and wife Pat of Poplar Bluff. Also survived by her husband's family, two sisters-in-law, Rose Menas and Gerri Finazzo both of St. Louis and two brothers-in-law, Anthony Finazzo of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and James Finazzo of St. Louis and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceding Mrs. Finazzo in death were her parents, David H. ""Bode"" and Dorothy (Moore) Rush.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. John Rush officiating. Burial will be in the Kinsey Cemetery in Butler County.
