Rose Henson

Rose Henson, of West Maude St., Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Barathaven Alzheimer's Special Care Center in Dardenne Prairie, Mo.

Rosebud, the daughter of the late John and Myrtle Limbaugh Danner, was born Sept. 6, 1922 in Kennett, Mo. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. Rosebud was a homemaker and enjoyed flower gardening and cooking.

She married Chester Henson, Sr. on March 22, 1940 at the Second Baptist parsonage in Poplar Bluff. He preceded her in death on April 1, 1986.

Survivors include four children, Chester Henson, Jr. of Tallahassee, Fla., Sally Darr and Jane Koopman of Knoxville, Tenn., and Marty Henson of St. Louise, Mo.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a stepdaughter, June Gooch of Weldon Springs Heights, Mo.; a sister, Janey Gavrin of New Orleans, La.; and two brothers, Tom (Catherine) Danner of Clubb, Mo. and Joe (Vera) Danner of Rogersville, Mo.

The family will receive visitors and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral chapel. Burial will immediately follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
