Rosemary Gibbs Hunot

Rosemary Gibbs Hunot, 89, of Poplar Bluff died Friday, Jan. 7, 2011 at The Medical Center of Plano in Plano, Tex.

Mrs. Hunot was born Feb. 12, 1921 in Elkville, Ill. She was a charter member of New Life Christian Church United and previously attended First Christian Church. In recent years she had been attending Holy Cross Episcopal Church with her daughter and son-in-law. Mrs. Hunot enjoyed spending time with her family, visiting with friends, playing bingo, working crossword puzzles, reading and watching the St. Louis Cardinals play baseball.

On March 11, 1944, she married John W. Gibbs in Yuma, Ariz. He preceded her in death on April 22, 1982. In 1991, she married E. O. Hunot in Jonesboro, Ark. He preceded her in death on Dec. 28, 1998.

Survivors include her daughters, Rebecca Heffington and husband, Joseph of Plano, Tex. and Mary Beth Foster and husband, Henry of Poplar Bluff; step-son, James Hunot and wife, Linda of Valles Mines, Mo.; grandchildren, Daron Nall and wife, Michele, Jeff Nall and wife, Lori, Lori Wolper and husband, Achim and John Foster; and great-grandchildren, Kendrick Nall, Camille Nall, Philip Wolper and Clara Wolper.

Her parents, Jerry and Mildred (Snowden) Reed, sister, Margaret Hargrave and brother, William Reed also preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Chapel with Rev. Annette Joseph officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
