Rosie Elizabeth Hale

Rosie Elizabeth Hale, 89, of Poplar Bluff died Friday, Nov. 12, 2010 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Hale was born Dec. 20, 1920 in Chaonia, Mo. She was of the Baptist faith, and had retired from Doctor's Regional Medical Center as a Central Sterile Technician. Mrs. Hale enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, canning, cooking, sewing, crocheting and square dancing.

On Oct. 17, 1936, she married Leonard Hale in Chaonia, Mo. He preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 1973.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Parker; a son, David Hale and wife, Lois of Pocahontas, Ark.; 14 grandchildren, Ronnie Hale and wife, Ruth, Mark Hale and wife Michelle, Denna Quaite and husband, Arroll, Donna Miller, Debbie Halter and husband, Steve, Rhonda Logsdon and husband, David, Barry Scott and wife, Edie, Renee Gordon, Amy McLean and husband, Gordon, Cheryl Parker, Lisa Parker and Laura Parker; 13 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Diane Hale of Poplar Bluff; and a son-in-law, Delbert Scott of Poplar Bluff.

Her parents, George and Pearl Powell Scritchfield, daughter, Betty Scott, sons, Billy Ray Hale and Carol Hale and sister, Myrtle Gallamore also preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Chapel with the Rev. Jim Hoyt officiating. Burial will be at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
