Roy W. Campbell

Roy William Campbell, 83, of Poplar Bluff died Friday, March 5, 2010 at St. Louis University Hospital.

Mr. Campbell was born Dec. 18, 1926 in Little River, Kans. He was of the Baptist faith, and had retired after 27 years with the Missouri National Guard. Mr. Campbell had also worked as a janitor for the National Guard Armory in Poplar Bluff. He enjoyed spending time with his family and visiting with friends.

Survivors include two children: Mary Campbell and Willard Campbell, both of Poplar Bluff; one grandchild: five sisters: Martha Cornett of O'Fallon, Marjorie Simpson, Garnett Campbell and Norma Willcut all of Poplar Bluff and Clarissa Bailey of Detroit, Mich.; and a brother, Robert Campbell of Warren, Mich.

A graveside service with full military honors will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with the Rev. Bobby Moore officiating.
