Roy Willard Scott, 85, of Poplar Bluff, passed away, Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Poplar Bluff Regional Center.
Mr. Scott was born Feb. 21, 1928 in Pinson, Tenn. He was a member of Heritage Freewill Baptist Church, and had retired after 20 years as a Department Supervisor for Lever Brothers in St. Louis. Mr. Scott later worked as an over the road truck driver for Rowe Furniture Company. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed storytelling, singing, fishing and gardening.
On May 17, 1952, he married Lola Bertha Burchard in St. Louis. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Keith Scott (Sandy), of Poplar Bluff; three grandchildren: Matthew O'Neal, Andrew O'Neal and Eric Wade Scott (Reanna), all of Poplar Bluff; and two brothers, Marvin Scott and Ellis Scott, both of Poplar Bluff.
His parents, Lester Ellis and Nannie E. Gurley Scott, a daughter, Deborah O'Neal, six sisters, Ovie, Edna, Bertie, Euda, Velma and Evelyn, and two brothers, Elco and Ruben preceded Mr. Scott in death.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the funeral chapel with Rev. Don Richmann officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Kime Cemetery in Wayne County.
