Ruben Lee Faughn

Ruben Lee Faughn, 101, of Poplar Bluff, died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2015 at Swiftcreek Residential Care Center in Poplar Bluff.

Mr. Faughn was born Aug. 1, 1914 in Harviell. He was a member of South Poplar Bluff General Baptist Church, where in 1941 he was ordained as a Deacon and served as a Sunday School superintendent and teacher for many years. He worked 32 years at municipal utilities and five years at the park department before retiring in 1979. Mr. Faughn enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, working in the yard and quilting.

On Jan. 4, 1936, he married Alma Prenzell. She preceded him in death on March 25, 1997.

Survivors include three children: Dennis Faughn (Fay) of Poplar Bluff, Donald Faughn (Sherry) of California, Mo. and Frances Reeder of Duncan, Okla.: six grandchildren: and 10 great-grandchildren.

An infant daughter, Anna Louise Faughn and a son, Charles Richard Faughn also preceded him in death.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with the service following at 11 a.m. The Rev. Michael Pope will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn section of the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
