Ruby Delores Howell

Ruby DeLores ""Dee"" Howell, 78, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. died Monday, April 4, 2011 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Howell was born June 29, 1932 in Mangum, Okla. She was of the Baptist faith, and had retired as a Lab Tech with the Missouri Department of Health. Mrs. Howell was a veteran of the U.S. Army Women's Air Corps, and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Royal Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and doing needlepoint.

On Nov. 13, 1953, she married James Wilson Howell in Fort Gordon, Ga. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1996.

Survivors include three children, Vivian Robinson and husband Dennis of Harrisburg, Ill., Charles David Howell and Suzanne Marie Carr and husband David all of Poplar Bluff; grandchildren, Sarah Sullivan and husband Brendan and Clinton Howell and fiance, Amy Gibbs, Stephan Herrington, Jeremy Lynn and fiance Heather Adams and Kenneth Franklin and wife, Lisa, Vivian Robinson and husband Dennis, Anthony Robinson and wife Anna, Jamie Robinson, Daniel Robinson and wife Tasha, Julie Robinson, Hannah Robinson, Lilee Robinson, Savannah Robinson, Annabella Robinson, Maya Robinson, Jaci Robinson, Jazmin Robinson and Rosalily Robinson: great-grandchildren, Kali Sullivan, Tyler, Kyle and Caden Howell, Gage Lynn, Fayth Lynn, and Mandy, Tyler, Austin and Samantha Franklin, Cody, Theresa, Anthony and Renee Robinson, and Justin and Jerrod Robinson; a sister, Doris Bogart of Mangum, Okla.; and a brother, Richard Hogue and wife Donna of Oklahoma City, Okla.

Her parents, Edd Leroy and Vivian (Sherwood) Hogue also preceded her in death.

An Eastern Star service will begin at 5:45 a.m. Friday with visitation following from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral chapel with Pastor Arvin Haynes officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
